Time for another blog, time to blog in general actually. I have been planning on writing about this trip for a while.
I have always been rambling about going to the Faroe Islands, ever since I was a kid, and constantly since I started photographing. One day I was talking about this to my wife and said, I’m just going to go, I’m going to look at flights now and buy the first flight possible. I then went just a week later.
The plan was simple, not to have a plan at all. I was just going to pick up my rental car, put on my headphones and drive, not speak to a soul. Just clear my mind, adventure, challenge myself as a photographer and hopefully get some good photos.
I want to show you some of my work from the trip, that turned out to be one of the greatest of my life.
After finding those highland cows, looking at Múlafossur waterfall in Gásadalur. I decided to head back to Torshavn and check into my apartment. But first I remembered seeing that my number one spot to see was close. It is called Trælanípa. It consists of a fresh water lake, on the edge of some of the scariest cliffs I have seen in my life. I hiked there for about 4 hours there and back. I had to wait for a few hours for the fog to clear up (good thing I am stubborn), then the fog cleared and this amazing location opened up for me, a surreal experience.
As my third and final day arrives, I am up before sunrise, chasing whatever it might be. I decide to go to Tjornuvik.
It was with a heavy heart that I left the Faroe Islands. Extremely lucky with weather, and longing to come back.
I’ll put some honorable mentions down below that didn’t make the big picture line up, but still like them :)
Hope you enjoyed. You can find me on instagram (runarhrodi) for more photography.
